Monmouth County Veterans Services Office
The Monmouth County Veterans Services Office helps resident veterans and their dependents apply for service-connected compensation, pension benefits, and other earned entitlements through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The office is a full-service agency, eliminating the need for veterans to travel to other locations to apply for benefits or to receive information and assistance regarding programs and services.
The Veterans Services Office maintains a close relationship with other state and county veterans organizations and maintains up-to-date information through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Parking for Disabled Veterans & Purple Heart Recipients
New Jersey law (NJSA 39:4-207.10) permits exemption from payment of municipal parking meter fees, for up to 24 hours, for disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients under the following circumstances:
- The parked vehicle is owned by the disabled veteran or the Purple Heart recipient; and
- The disabled veteran or Purple Heart recipient is the driver or a passenger in that vehicle; and
- The vehicle displays a unique placard issued by the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC).
A disabled veteran or Purple Heart recipient placard affords the vehicle owner the same privileges as the license plates.
